Best body lotions for sensitive skin, proven to calm, soothe and hydrate reactive skin.
Over the years, I’ve tried several body lotions for sensitive skin. I do have a type of combo dry, sensitive skin that gets red, itchy, irritated, and reactive to anything, depending on the season.
From autumn to winter, I deal more with dryness and itchiness, toward spring, is more on the redness side, and in the summer, is prone to sunburns. Sooo… yes. I’m very lucky with my skin.
What I have found that works best for dealing with all of these skin reactions is to simply use fragrance-free body lotions with as many calming and hydrating ingredients as possible.
Ingredients like ceramides, hyaluronic acid, urea, petrolatum, oat extract, aloe, niacinamide, peptides, vitamin E, allantoin, dimethicone, and panthenol to help the skin calm, regenerate, and feel its best.
If you, too, have body-sensitive skin that is prone to redness, itching, and irritation, often reacting negatively to different factors, then this list of body lotions is for you.
Here, you will find a set of twelve body lotions that work best for sensitive skin. Some of these lotions have proven to be effective on my skin, while others are options with a great feedback from people with sensitive skin.

A part of the products listed below are my personal tried-and-tested options. Body lotions for sensitive skin that worked best for me and my combo to dry, sensitive skin. CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion is probably one of the first best body lotions I tried for sensitive skin. It’s lightweight, thin in consistency, yet hydrating; a little goes a long way, with a matte finish similar to CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. More on my full CeraVe review.
Its key ingredients include glycerin, 3 types of ceramides, dimethicone, and hyaluronic acid to help hydrate and repair the skin.
Hyaluronic acid has been shown in studies to help dry-aging skin, with the ability to bind over 1,000 times its weight in water to boost moisture and improve skin’s overall appearance. (Source) Ceramides have also been shown to improve skin hydration and barrier function. (Source)
The lotion is fragrance-free and non-comedogenic. It’s a big bottle that seems to last forever. If you have normal to dry, sensitive, or damaged skin and need a lightweight, simple, yet efficient light body lotion, this is a quick and affordable option.

2. Eucerin Urea Repair Plus 10% Urea Lotion

Key Ingredients: 10% urea, glycerin, shea butter, ceramides; fragrance-free.
Eucerin Urea Repair Plus 10% Urea Lotion is a fairly new addition to my skincare routine. But I’m so happy I found it. It’s a dewy, super-hydrating body lotion for sensitive, rough, dry skin that goes on smooth and has a gentle honeycomb scent (at least to me). The scent is due to the combination of ingredients, as the lotion is fragrance-free.
The lotion is formulated with 10% urea, glycerin, shea butter, and ceramides to improve hydration and maintain skin healthy. It does not feel oily or heavy on the skin, and has a texture that is neither thick nor thin – something in between.
Some studies have found that urea is useful in treating a wide range of skin conditions, including xerosis, psoriasis, ichthyosis, and seborrheic dermatitis, as well as improving skin barrier function. (Source)
If you have dry to very dry, rough, bumpy, sensitive skin and need a body lotion that is both moisturizing and smoothing, this is a great option. It works wonderfully, it’s super hydrating with a glowing finish.
Pro Tip: Try adjusting the amount of cream you are using for less shine but a natural glow.
3. Aveeno Skin Relief Moisturizing Lotion

Key Ingredients: 1.2% dimethicone, glycerin, petrolatum, oat extract, shea butter extract; fragrance-free.
Aveeno Skin Relief Moisturizing Lotion is another great option if you have sensitive skin that is prone to itching.
It is formulated with 1.2% dimethicone, glycerin, petrolatum, oat extract and shea butter extract to calm, soften and hydrate the skin.
Dimethicone is a silicone that has a moisturizing and softening effect, hypoallergenic and noncomedogenic. (Source)
The lotion is fragrance-free, absorbs quickly, is non-greasy, and has a silky finish. You get a huge amount for the price and they also offer a 33 fl.oz/ 975 ml option.

4. Holika Holika Soothing Gel Aloe 99%
Holika Holika Soothing Gel Aloe 99%

Key Ingredients: aloe juice, centella + cucumber + watermelon extract; it does contain fragrance, but it’s very mild, and, at least to me, non-irritating.
Holika Holika Soothing Gel Aloe 99% is, as the name suggests, an aloe gel that is super lightweight, minimally aloe-scented that does not feel tacky or greasy when applied. A little goes very long way.
It contains aloe vera, centella, cucumber, and watermelon extracts to calm, refresh, and regenerate the skin. The formula does not include water.
What I appreciate about this aloe vera gel is that it has a high concentration of aloe and includes other soothing ingredients to enhance its calming effects. There is also the finish. It dries down completely in a semi-dewy finish, similar to COSXR Advanced Snail 92 All In One Cream, but without snail mucin.
It can be used as a body lotion, face moisturizer, or mask to hydrate and calm irritations. Gel to help bruises heal faster (if you are like me, you bruise quickly for no apparent reason).
It’s extremely versatile and useful to have at home if you have sensitive skin. I’ve always been very happy with this purchase.

5. PYUNKANG YUL Intensive Ceramide Lotion

Key Ingredients: glycerin, hyaluronic acid, ceramide PC-104 1000 ppm, shea butter, squalane; fragrance-free.
Another great body lotion for sensitive skin is PYUNKANG YUL Intensive Ceramide Lotion. It’s lightweight, yet hydrating, with no fragrance and a creamy texture.
It contains glycerin, hyaluronic acid, ceramides, shea butter, and squalane to hydrate and repair the skin. The ceramides used here are called Ceramide PC-104 at 1000 ppm – a relatively new type of ceramide that is suggested to work and impart the same properties as Ceramide NP. (Source)
PPM: 1000 ppm (part per million) means 0.1% and is calculated by dividing the ppm value by 10,000. In our case 1000/ 10000 = 0.1%.
Pyunkang Yul is a Korean brand. Lately, I’ve developed an interest in Korean products. They seem to be differently formulated, and this ceramide lotion is no exception.
If you are looking for something new with different ingredients, like Ceramide PC, this is a fantastic option as it’s moisturizing, non-greasy, absorbs quickly, fragrance-free – friendly with sensitive skin.
6. Uriage Xemose Lipid-Replenishing Anti-Irritation Cerat
Price: $ | Size: 6.8 fL. oZ/ 200 mL | Best: For Skin Prone To Atopy, Anti Irritations, Extreme Skin Dryness, Very Dewy.
Key Ingredients: 25% shea butter, glycerin, dimethicone, vitamin E, lactic acid; fragrance-free.
An extremely moisturizing cream – this is the one. Uriage Xemose Lipid-Replenishing Anti-Irritation Cerat. It’s a creamy shea butter-based body lotion with a whipped butter texture and neutral scent.
I did a debate with my husband on the scent and we both agreed that it resembles paint – fresh paint. Very mild. I personally enjoyed it.
Its key ingredients include 25% shea butter, glycerin, dimethicone, vitamin E, and lactic acid to extremely moisturize dry and very dry skin.
Recommended for skin prone to atopy, irritations, extreme skin dryness is a fantastic option to consider if you have extremely dry, sensitive skin. It goes on smooth, is long-lasting and extremely hydrating.

7. Nécessaire The Body Lotion

Key Ingredients: 2.5.% niacinamide, 5 types of peptides, glycerin, jojoba oil, vitamin E; fragrance-free.
Nécessaire The Body Lotion is another great body lotion for sensitive skin as it’s fragrance-free, lightweight, absorbs quickly, non-greasy, but highly moisturizing.
It contains 2.5% niacinamide, 5 different peptides, glycerin, jojoba oil, and vitamin E to hydrate, tighten, and strengthen the skin.
We do have a few promising studies that show peptides can reduce fine lines and wrinkles while also acting as skin hydrators. (Source)
Niacinamide has also been shown to work as an antioxidant, improve epidermal barrier function, reduce skin hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, redness and blotchiness, skin yellowness (sallowness), and skin elasticity. (Source)
If loss of firmness, dullness, and dryness are your primary concerns in your body skincare routine for sensitive skin, this is great to try as it combines effectiveness with simplicity, making it a worthwhile pick for daily hydration.

8. Neutrogena Hydro Boost Body Gel Cream

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Body Gel Cream is another lightweight body lotion for sensitive skin due to its simple ingredients and lack of fragrance. The gel texture absorbs fast and feels hydrating on the skin without feeling oily, heavy or sticky on the skin.
Its main ingredients include glycerin, petrolatum, dimethicone, and sodium hyaluronate to help moisturize the skin.
If a body gel cream that feels light, silky and hydrating is what you are looking for, then this is definitely worth to try. It’s completely fragrance-free with a soft silky finish.

Easy to use – just apply to wet skin right after showering and towel dry as normal – this is the Curel Hydra Therapy In Shower Lotion. It’s a very lightweight, creamy lotion you can use right after shower that absorbs quickly with no residues.
It contains glycerin, shea butter, petrolatum, allantoin, panthenol, and ceramides to help moisturize, soothe, calm, and repair the skin.
Good for anyone looking for something affordable, convenient, quick, and easy to apply in the shower with some great hydrating ingredients.

For so long, I’ve been repurchasing this moisturizer as it’s that good for combo, sensitive, dry skin. It’s a thick, creamy lotion that feels very moisturizing on the skin with a semi-dewy, glowing skin finish. Super versatile to be used both face and body.
It absorbs quickly and the amount of cream can be easily adjusted as needed as it’s a very lubricating lotion that hydrates without feeling heavy or greasy on the skin.
With La Roche-Posay prebiotic thermal water, ceramide, shea butter, glycerin, dimethicone, niacinamide, vitamin E, and vitreoscilla ferment (probiotic) – it helps support the skin moisture barrier and deeply hydrate the skin.
They offer three sizes: 75 ml, 200 ml, and 400 ml. I would recommend the 200 ml tube instead of the 400 ml pump version. The pump head is way too small to dispense all the product. I have experienced this issue twice already but I was able to figure out it both times. Plus, is little hard to pump the lotion being thick.
All in all, it’s a gentle yet powerful everyday solution for those struggling with sensitiveness, dryness and discomfort. Completely fragrance-free. I’ve included more on my La Roche Posay review here.
