La Roche Posay Skincare One Brand Review

La Roche Posay review: my experience with La Roche Posay skincare products, what I’ve tried, plus recommendations and some tips.

If in my last post, I shared my review on CeraVe skincare, continuing on the series of me reviewing each product I’ve tried from a brand in a single post (no. 2), I will now move on to La Roche Posay.

*** This post is not sponsored by La Roche Posay.

La Roche-Posay is a skincare brand very dear to me because of their reasonably priced products that are formulated with care. I’ve been using and rotating their products for many years and they have never failed to deliver the desired results. However, as with any other brand, some of their products outperform others.

In this post, I will cover the products I’ve tried so far from La Roche Posay and share my experience. If you are interested in trying out their products, check out my reviews below.

MY 35+ SKIN PROFILE AND SKINCARE ROUTINESkin Type: Combination skin prone to dryness, sensitivity, texture and a bit of T-zone oiliness, especially in the summer. Light skin with a cool undertone.

Goals: Increasing hydration, minimizing irritations, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and texture + preventing sun damage.

Skincare Routine: Love rotating skincare products, favoring retinoids for their anti-aging benefits and adjusting my routine based on the needs of my skin. Typically a maximum of 5-steps skincare routine.

✨In my skincare routine for combination skin, I go over my routine in more depth, including top product recommendations and tips.

Challenges: Finding products to meet all my skin goals and needs without feeling greasy or irritating.

1. La Roche-Posay Lipikar AP+M Triple Action Balm Review

La Roche-Posay Lipikar Balm AP+ Intense Repair Body Lotion
La Roche-Posay Lipikar AP+M Triple Action Balm/ aka La Roche Posay Lipikar AP+M Triple Repair Moisturizing Cream

Price: $ | Size: / fL. oZ/ 400 mL the pump, 200 mL the tube | Best: Hydrating, With Niacinamide, Glowing Finish.

Key Ingredients: La Roche-Posay prebiotic thermal water, ceramide, shea butter, glycerin, dimethicone, niacinamide, vitamin E, vitreoscilla ferment (probiotic); fragrance-free.

The first product in this La Roche Posay review is a face and body moisturizer called La Roche-Posay Lipikar AP+M Triple Action Balm/aka La Roche Posay Lipikar AP+M Triple Repair Moisturizing Cream.

For so long, I’ve been repurchasing this moisturizer as it’s that good for combination skin, especially when it gets drier during winter. It’s a thick, creamy lotion that feels very moisturizing on the skin with a semi-dewy, glowing skin finish. Super versatile to be used both face and body.

It absorbs quickly and the amount of cream can be easily adjusted as needed as it’s a very lubricating lotion that hydrates without feeling heavy or greasy on the skin.

With La Roche-Posay prebiotic thermal water, ceramide, shea butter, glycerin, dimethicone, niacinamide, vitamin E, and vitreoscilla ferment (probiotic) – it helps support the skin moisture barrier and deeply hydrate the skin.

They offer three sizes: 75 ml, 200 ml, and 400 ml. I would recommend the 200 ml tube instead of the 400 ml pump version. The pump head is way too small to dispense all the product. I have experienced this issue twice already but I was able to figure out it both times. Plus, is little hard to pump the lotion being thick.

All in all, it’s a gentle yet powerful everyday solution for those struggling with sensitiveness, dryness and discomfort. Completely fragrance-free.

I’m loving it for so long whenever I feel to put on something more rich, creamy and dewy on my skin. It’s one of the best lotion for combo dry skin I have come across. Super versatile.

2. La Roche-Posay Lipikar AP+ Cream Wash Review

La Roche-Posay Lipikar Wash AP+ Moisturizing Cream Wash
La Roche-Posay Lipikar AP+ Cream Wash/ aka La Roche Posay AP+ Gentle Foaming Moisturizing Wash

Price: $ | Size: / fL. oZ/ 200 mL | Best: For Combination Skin, Hydrating, Foaming.

Key Ingredients: glycerin, sodium laureth sulfate (surfactant/ cleansing), niacinamide, shea butter, vitreoscilla ferment (probiotic); fragrance-free.

The next product I have on my La Roche Posay review is the La Roche-Posay Lipikar Wash AP+ Moisturizing Cream Wash. This is the same with La Roche Posay AP+ Gentle Foaming Moisturizing Wash.

It’s a gentle cleanser that foams a little. Feels hydrating. I love it so much. Definitely a better option for combination skin compared to CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser I mentioned in my CeraVe review, that does not foam at all.

It does remove normal, non resistant makeup and cleans up the skin beautifully without drying it out. A little goes long way. Also effective in calming irritation. Zero fragrance.

To gently wash and hydrate the skin, the formula contains glycerin, sodium laureth sulfate (surfactant/ cleansing), niacinamide, shea butter, and vitreoscilla ferment (probiotic). It feels creamy and non-drying.

Having combination skin, I found it to be the perfect balance of foaming and hydration to cleanse the skin.

If you have combination skin and are looking for something gentle yet effective in removing dirt and oil from your face, you will find this product lovely. It’s affordable and you get a nice amount for the money.

3. La Roche-Posay Toleriane Caring Wash Review

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Facial Cleanser
La Roche-Posay Toleriane Caring Wash/ aka La Roche Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Cleanser

Price: $ | Size: 13.52 fL. oZ/ 400 mL | Best: Hydrating, Barrier Repairing, Soothing, For Extremely Dry Skin.

Key Ingredients: glycerin, ceramide np, niacinamide, coco-betaine (surfactant/ cleansing), panthenol, vitamin E; fragrance-free.

Continuing next with my La Roche Posay review, I also tried the La Roche-Posay Toleriane Caring Wash/ aka Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Facial Cleanser.

This is essentially a simplified version of La Roche Posay Lipikar AP+ Cream Wash, also known as La Roche Posay AP+ Gentle Foaming Moisturizing Wash. Without sodium laureth sulfate. It contains coco-betaine as a surfactant.

It’s a gentle cleanser that foams little to nothing. Feels very hydrating. Best for extremely dry skin. I found this great when I was struggling with a lot of dryness from tretinoin use.

It has no scent and feels creamy and soothing to the skin. It creates just a tiny bit of foam to remove excess oil, with a thicker consistency, almost like a lotion. A little goes a long way.

No reasons to complain. It works as long as you pair it with the right skin type, which is dry to very dry. I personally keep it on my radar in case my skin goes overly dry.

4. La Roche-Posay Lipikar Lait Body Lotion Review

La Roche-Posay Lipikar Lait Lotion
La Roche-Posay Lipikar Lait Body Lotion/ aka La Roche Posay Lipikar Daily Repair Moisturizing Lotion

Price: $ | Size: 13.52 fL. oZ/ 400 mL | Best: Hydrating, For Normal to Dry Skin, Body Use.

Key Ingredients: La Roche-Posay prebiotic thermal water, shea butter, glycerin, mineral oil, niacinamide, grape seed oil, dimethicone; no fragrance.

Next on my La Roche Posay review is the La Roche-Posay Lipikar Lait Body Lotion/ aka La Roche Posay Lipikar Daily Repair Moisturizing Lotion.

Simply put. It’s a lighter version of the La Roche-Posay Lipikar AP+M Triple Action Balm. To use only on the body.

A semi-thick creamy lotion that feels moisturizing on the skin with a semi-dewy, glowing skin finish.

With La Roche-Posay prebiotic thermal water, shea butter, glycerin, mineral oil, niacinamide, grape seed oil, and dimethicone – it helps support the skin moisture barrier and hydrate the skin.

I like the balm better as it delivers more value for the price in terms of hydration. However, this is also a decent lotion if you are looking for something lighter to apply on your body.

5. La Roche-Posay Lipikar AP+ Cleansing Oil Review

La Roche-Posay Lipikar Foaming Cleansing Oil
La Roche-Posay Lipikar AP+ Cleansing Oil/ aka La Roche Posay Lipikar AP+ Gentle Foaming Cleansing Oil

Price: $ | Size: / fL. oZ/ 750 mL | Best: For Dry Sensitive Skin.

Key Ingredients: La Roche-Posay prebiotic thermal water, sodium laureth sulfate (surfactant/ cleansing), niacinamide, vitreoscilla ferment (probiotic); fresh cut grass scent.

The last but not least on my La Roche Posay review is the La Roche-Posay Lipikar AP+ Cleansing Oil. The version with fragrance.

Now, I have thoughts on this scented option. I hate the fragrance. It’s a persistent fresh-cut grass scent that does not go away after washing. OMG!!!

The formula, however, is gentle and nice. It foams and cleanses effectively without feeling dry or oily on the skin. It’s formulated with La Roche-Posay prebiotic thermal water, sodium laureth sulfate (surfactant/ cleansing), niacinamide, vitreoscilla ferment (probiotic) to gently foam and cleanse the skin. Sadly, I could not use it completely because of the scent.

The good news is that they now have a fragrance-free version of this oil cleanser on their official website. Which I’m excited to try it out next as the formula is performing.

If you love the scent, please be my guest. It’s a no for me. I have never had a fragrance that lasted so long on my skin as this one did. From a cleansing oil. Yac!

La Roche-Posay Products I Recommend

Except for the La Roche-Posay Lipikar Foaming Cleansing Oil, which I was unable to use because of its scent, all of the products in this La Roche Posay skincare review perform well and are amazing options to consider.

La Roche-Posay Lipikar AP+M Triple Action Balm is really hydrating for those struggling with dryness and discomfort.

La Roche-Posay Lipikar AP+ Cream Wash is gentle and effective for combination skin since it foams just enough to deliver the ideal mix of foaming and moisture while cleansing the skin.

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Caring Wash is even gentler than the La Roche-Posay Lipikar Wash AP+ Moisturizing Cream Wash for extremely dry, sensitive skin.

La Roche-Posay Lipikar Lait Body Lotion is a lighter, yet moisturizing version of La Roche-Posay Lipikar AP+M Triple Action Balm. To use on body.

It all depends on what you prefer and are looking for. The texture and consistency of products are similar from one to another. La Roche Posay formulas texture tend to be on the thicker side, which is good as they can provide a little bit more value.

The fragrance-free is also on point for scent-free options. It’s not weird or neutral. Simply do not exist.

Tips With La Roche Posay Skincare

As I am writing this review of La Roche-Posay, I can’t help but notice how difficult it’s to navigate through their product offerings online. The products have different names and labeling depending on the market they are selling in, which can be confusing, even for someone like me who has been buying their products for a while now.

Here is a quick visual guide on the products mentioned in this review to help you easily identify them if you want to research or try the brand and products.
